Our Outdoor Classroom

Morning routine.

Friends were happy to be back, and to talk about what they'd done over the long weekend.

We finished one hard puzzle, and started another.

Then it was time for Spanish.

We are continuing to work on spanish words for clothes.

Then, we headed outside, where we stayed for almost the entire morning. We had a new sailing ship!

There was a lot to do in the pond.

We had a good snack.

There were many new bugs out, which we carefully studied.

We made sure to stay well hydrated.

There were all kinds of things being stirred and baked.

We brought many bits of the classroom outside: a basket of books to read in cozy spots, magnatiles to build with, our puzzle to work on, and our special colored sprinkles for the mud kitchen.

We used so much water, the pond needed filling.

Back inside, we read, Emile, about a cat who visits an artist named Vincent, and brings color and art back to his family. A friend showed us pictures of the banana car she saw this weekend.

We handed out a teeny-tiny mystery material - we asked friends to predict what would happen if we dropped them in the water. One friend explained the word "dissolve" to us, and thought that is what would happen.

We watched them sink to the bottom. Later, they seemed to have disappeared! Tomorrow, we will investigate further.
