Day at the Creek

We started today off with Superhero self-portrait making and other daily morning events...

Some friends continued measuring the wood boards, but this time they took on the task all on their own.

Friends signed in and journaled

And no morning is complete without some building

Spanish class was next...

And then we headed outside to plant our bean sprouts and eat some snack.

The long wooden board that the Catbirds measured out was cut up so that each classmate would have one. Now that they are cut, each friend wrote their name on it and sanded the edges.

We headed off for an adventure in the lovely spring weather. Walking hand in hand when we are in the parking lot, the Catbirds set off for the creek.

Literacy with sticks: "I made a T!"

The Catbirds measured the water depth with sticks, ran across the grassy field, and much more.

There was jumping and "fishing"

A gigantic leaf!

Before heading back, Amy starting a chasing game, which really got the Catbirds running. They caught her many times (clearly due to their superhero speed). And through it all she somehow captured some photos...

We stopped on the Big Kid playground on our way back.

It was amazing to see how much stronger the Catbirds had grown since the fall, when these monkey bars were a far more challenging endeavor.

We read a book, ate some lunch, and snuggled in for Rest Time.
