Stories without Books

Morning construction: A Race Car Garage Cemetery.

After an action packed time indoors and a good snack, we headed outside.

The pond was the big attraction today, both for baking...

...and for emptying out all of the rocks. Friends demonstrated amazing strength as we set about giving one of our favorite outdoor features a tune up.

Then, we headed out on a nearby adventure, as we gathered for Morning Meeting under a beautiful tree. After our Moment of Silence, Carol told friends something special - that you could tell great stories without books! Instead, you could just use words or even some props. Pulling out a wolf puppet and three little pigs, the Catbirds were quick to guess what story was coming.

The Catbirds helped to build a house of grass and leaves and a house of sticks. They also helped with their favorite lines.

We found a box for our strongest house and laughed uproariously when the wolf shot out of the chimney and across the lawn. Next, we unloaded other props from our wagon, and encouraged friends to create stories of their own They jumped right into the action.

We also brought out some drums, and took turns copying one another's rhythms.

We continued the adventure interviews.

Aedin stopped by to see what we were up to.

Then, it was time to load up and head back for lunch.
