Reading and Relaxing

Tomorrow Morning: Art at 8:30 am!

There was building, writing, reading and lots of dramatic play this morning.

There is nothing like newly organized toys to propel friends to get EVERYTHING out!

We used almost every magnatile to build our tower this morning.

And special, secret recipe cookies were being served.

The Bilibo's were in full spin.

A brief run around outdoors.

Singing on the way to Music Class.

Back for Morning Meeting. We talked about the difference between when our bodies feel tense and when they are relaxed. We practiced tensing different muscles to feel the difference.

After our Moment of Silence, we read a new book - or rather, the Catbirds read it. Friends are getting quite good at using visual and verbal cues to help them decode words. This book, First the Egg, was a particularly good one to engage these skills.

We read through our Choices. Most friends opted either to work with the new Flubber that we made yesterday, or to do some bead stringing.

"It feels squishy!"
"It's sticky. I like to turn it into a snake! It feels like a worm."

After, quite a few friends began work on building a "Pancake Making Machine." It was quite enormous.

It also made plenty of pancakes for everyone.

We headed out for bit before coming in for lunch. Storytelling has become an active part of our lunchtime, and friends are taking turns telling some silly, scary stories.
