Clay Exploration in Art Class

The Catbirds had a busy morning in the art room exploring clay. As the Catbirds have been considering different types of construction and building, we decided to see what kinds of forms we could create with clay.

Some questions that we worked with as we played with clay were: What happens when you add water to clay? What happens when you take it away? Can you make one piece of clay into smaller pieces? If you press on it, what happens to the clay? How can you make different shapes?

A wonderful time was had by all and now that the Catbirds have had the opportunity to openly play with clay and get to know it, they will be ready to make some clay creations to keep next time!
