Spanish & Guitars

This morning, we had our first Spanish class with Alicia.

The Catbirds were excited to begin this journey.

Creating patterns on the light table.

There was a new instrument in the room today, and Carol took some time with friends to explain how it was put together, the differences between strings, and how to change, start and stop sounds.

While we were busy inside, one of the Catbirds noticed a ruckus outside.

Hundreds of birds landed in the Outdoor Classroom.

We were amazed at the number of birds and how they flew together.

Some friends set up a dental practice outside.

Others friends were escaping from aliens.

The Doves had set up an obstacle course, and many Catbirds enjoyed the challenge.

Back inside, we gathered for a brief Morning Meeting. We sang some new favorite songs.

We also discussed using the video camera, and friends talked about what kind of movies they would like to make. Ideas included: Telling a story, singing a song, putting on a puppet show, demonstrating how to build something and speaking Spanish.

Then, we gathered our books to return and headed to the library.

We checked out new books, read a bit, and headed back.

For Choice Time, friends experimented with the Flubber...

...worked with stencils...

...and learned a new game with Heidi.
