Stick Figures

Picture of the Day!

The Catbirds started their morning off by playing with their stick figures. Friends used themselves in stick form to help journal, pilot airplanes and even just to read books.

Before heading outside to play, we had a quick dance party. The Catbirds are great dancers and really love to shake their groove things!

While we were outside friends, noticed that the sandbox was hard. Some friends thought it may be frozen while others thought the sand turned into rock. Friends ended up realizing that if they work as a team, they could chip away at the "frozen rocky sand" and scoop it up and make sand cakes.

Other friends enjoyed making designs in the snow with sticks, leafy branches and their fingers.

Before we turned into Catbird Snow-people, we headed in for a story. Danielle read us a book called Goldilocks and the Three Dinosaurs. We talked about what other story Goldilocks was in. Friends tried to guess what was going to happen next in the story, based on the book The Three Little Bears. But the this story had a different ending!

After our story, we had Choice Time. Friends were able to choose between paper airplane making, the water table (that was filled with lots of bottles and cups that are great for practicing our pouring), the pomegranates and our stick people.

Friends used the stick people in our doll house. They also made furniture out of the wooden blocks, so they could pretend they were sitting, or laying down for a nap. After all the paper airplanes landed, pomegranates were eaten and stick people were put to a nap, we cleaned up and ate our lunch and then snuggled into our sleeping mats to listen to a Winnie the Pooh story and dozed off to sleep.
