A Walkabout!

Our day began like an ordinary Catbird kind of day with journaling, friends reading to one another and playing with the magnitiles.

The Catbirds have become very interested in taking pictures. So we have a camera that is the perfect size for the Catbirds to use. Friends have been practicing very hard at holding the camera nice and still while pushing the button. This is a hard skill for friends, but they are getting very good at it! After each friend was finished taking his or her pictures, Danielle uploaded them to her computer, so they could view and print their pictures. Keep an eye out because our beautiful pictures will be hung up very soon!

We then bundled up and headed outside for an adventure. We started at the Outdoor Classroom and then headed to the Mountain of Rocks (the rock pile)! 

Once we climbed to the peak of the Mountain, we headed to the Big Forest.

When we got to the Forest, we found trees (branches with needles) laying on the ground. Since we are incredibly strong and have been eating our growing food, we were able to pick them up and carry them!

We also found a tree with a hole in it. Friends took many guesses on how they thought the tree got a hole in it. 

We then practiced our balancing skills by standing on cut up tree trunks!

We then headed to one of our favorite places: the Puddle Tree!

We also saw a bike that had no tires! Friends were very confused as to where the tires went! Some friends tried to ride the bike, but it was very tricky!

Our last stop on our adventure was the Mountain of Dirt! 

Before heading back inside, Danielle wanted to have a thirty second dance party, but friends kept falling over, which the Catbirds found very funny! 

We headed back inside to finish our adventure. We found silly looking art, and we listened to the older kids play their instruments. 

When we got back to our classroom, we had a short Choice Time. Friends were able to choose between the Water Table, Flubber, Books, the Easel and Planting Seeds!
