Back Together Again!

Picture of the Day

Friends were very happy to be together again and eager to reconnect with one another.

We read lots of our favorite books -

- and were eager to do our journals.

There were tiny animals to build houses for -

- and letters to organize.

Boxes to tape,

and boxes to build.

We had not one but two birthday celebrations today! We got to sing twice, blow out candles and eat cupcakes.

At Morning Meeting, we had a Moment of Loudness, followed by a Moment of Silence. Then we read a giant storybook called, This Is My Friend.

Next, we introduced a new level of Choice Time. We have cards with choices written on them and friends work to "decode" the words (there are also pictures that give friends clues). Then, each friend chooses what they would like to do first and puts their name next to the card. For each friend, we adjust the challenge of this activity to match their level.

Today's Choices included: The Sand/Rice table,

Books (always a choice),

Puzzles,

or Shaving Cream!

Friends figured out that if you smooth the shaving cream across the tray, then you can draw pictures or write letters in the shaving cream.

Before lunch we headed outside; friends were very excited to find out that there was snow on the ground. Some friends made teeny tiny snowballs and other friends threw the snow at the pond and were very confused when it disappeared!

To finish up our morning, friends read books, practiced the alphabet and ate all their growing food for lunch, even though Carol and Danielle tried to stop them! The Catbirds snuggled up on their sleeping matts to rest and dream about what fun we will have the rest of the week!
