Signs

Friends were very busy this morning.

After we cut and built and read and journaled and fed the guinea pigs and pretended lots of different things,

we bellied up to tell our first Round Robin story. This is a story that we make up, one piece at a time and each friend adds their own twists and turns. Some Catbirds are old pros at this and some are just learning how to do it, but everyone was very excited to join in or listen as the story unfolded.

Next, we had snack and the Catbirds realized that one of our friends was using his hands to communicate. So he showed us how to say "more" in sign language, and then "thank you." The Catbirds were very interested in this way of talking, so we also looked up, "please."

Then we went off on an adventure, in search of red. Every time a friend found something red, they got to take a picture of it. We also figured out how to say "red" in sign language, and used it to signal when we'd found something.
