Art

After some books and journals, we had another special visitor today. Sam, the art teacher! She came first to read us a book; My Many Colored Days, and friends enjoyed naming the colors and thinking about the feelings that go with them.

Then, we followed Sam down to her room - The Art Room. First, we had to see if we were going to fit on the stools (we did), then Sam told us that this will be one of the places we make art. We are very happy about starting Art.

Next, we played, "I Spy," with the painted tiles on the ceiling. We were very good at finding a unicorn, and eagle, 3 mice, Winnie the Pooh and a cow.

When we got to the room, who did we see outside in the playhouse? Marty and Timmy! We rushed out to find out what they were doing, and they were as happy to see us as we were to see them.

They showed us what they were adding to the playhouse, and then we ran very fast for a few minutes.

We went back in for Snack and Morning Meeting.

We sang our songs and then read, The Mommy Book,  about all different kinds of mommies and the things they liked to do. The Catbirds were eager to share about the fun things they do with their mommies.

We headed back outside (because it was so beautiful), and Marty and Timmy showed us some new tools and how they work.

Some friends went out on a leaf hunt, and found leaves of all different shapes, sizes and colors.

We used these for a special project we are working on. Already it was time for lunch. The morning had flown by.
