Leaving the Door Wide Open

We left the door open this morning, and lots of folks came through. Some were Catbirds and their families and some were from other classes in the EC. Debbie Green came in to join us, too.

Then, in came three 8th graders: Jordan, Peter and Jack. They were doing community service and had come to spend the morning with us. We showed them all of the fun things to do in our room, and they joined right in.

Then they headed outside to play with us. This added a whole new level of excitement to our experience outdoors.

It was such a beautiful day, we decided to have Snack outside. We shared our bananas and graham crackers with our new friends.

Then it was time to head inside to get ready for our next visitors - the 2nd grade class, coming to read to us. While we waited, we sang a few of our favorite songs, and showed the dance moves to our friends.

The 2nd graders brought many great books to read to us, and the Catbirds moved around the room, listening to as many as they liked.

After the 2nd grade visitors left, we went back out with the 8th graders. We found ourselves a GIANT RAKE, and went out to make a leaf pile. Much more fun happened.

Too soon, it was time to say goodbye to Jordan, Peter and Jack (although we will see them again next month). We headed inside and got cleaned up for lunch. Today's discussions included: Cats; What is a sandwich?: and Are Goldfish Growing Food?
