Some Favorite Places

Friends were singing and playing all kinds of games this morning.

There was a parade of bears,

and growling tigers.

A lifeguard was on duty,

to keep an eye on babies and alligators.

We continued to work on our boxes.

We also took a trip to the library, to see about borrowing another camera. (Michelle, we discovered, is at a conference in Texas, so we decided to send her an email when we got back to our room).

While we were there, friends picked out some books.

We found a stuffed animal, and there was a hearty debate about whether it was a cat or a dog. Both sides gave strong evidence to support their side.

We were lucky that Gwen was there to help friends find what they were looking for.

Some Catbirds found comfy places to sit and read.

Many of our boxes had reached their expiration date, so we gathered up the bits and pieces, and hiked them over to the recycling dumpster.

The dumpster happened to be near one of our favorite places - the rock pile. So, we stopped to climb and slide.

Back in Catbird Land, we had snack and Morning Meeting.

We read a favorite book, Oh No!

Then we reviewed our options for Choice Time: Watercolors, Filling the sand table with colored rice (and playing with it), and working on another box.

Our artists were hard at work creating beautiful pieces.

Friends tried guessing how many can fulls of colored rice there would be. Estimates ranged from 4 to 50, with the final count being 30.

Our steering wheels arrived, and needed sanding.

Then it was back outside.

At lunch, we had a birthday celebration, complete with delicious cupcakes with pink frosting.
A lovely way to cap off our morning!
