IT'S SNOWING!!!

The Catbirds day began with journaling, book reading and talking about the snow. Friends were very excited that it was going to snow today, so they coule have a very big snowball fight!

Friends were so excited about the snow that we celebrated by throwing our hands up in the air and having a dance party. The Catbirds are great dancers! Some friends love to jump up and down, others love to spin on the ground and some simply like to sway. Either way we had a blast!

Once our dance party was over, we had a Moment of Silence and Morning Meeting. Friends played a listening game; friends listened really hard to see if they could hear an animal, and if they heard the animal, they had to touch their nose. Friends heard a monkey, elephant, cat, dog and a bear - just to name a few.

After Morning Meeting, we headed outside to explore our outdoor classroom

When the Catbirds returned back to their classroom, Vicki read them a book called Snow Music. Friends really enjoyed this book. We pretended that we were snowflakes falling from the sky. Vicki explained that not one snowflake was alike, just like each friend was wearing a different color which made them different snowflakes.

After our story we went on a listening walk around school. Friends heard lots of different noises. The best part of our adventure is when we walked past the door and noticed that it was SNOWING outside.   Since we talked about the snow all morning, we decided that we needed to quickly go outside and catch a snowflake on our tongues!

Friends were so excited! They were singing, dancing and trying to catch the snow, which was very hard. We then ran inside to Debbie's office to tell her the great news!

The Catbirds finished off their day with Choice Time. Friends were building a zoo out of 'magnatiles' for their animals to live in, others were reading books and some were baking delicious meals in the kitchen. What a wonderful day!
