Better in a Box

It was a lovely morning. Friends came in and did some leisurely - and very silly - journal entries. There was a continuation of some dramatic play involving taking care of babies (and taking turns being babies).

We moved the table over into the block area, and a variety of roads, airports and houses appeared.

Towers appeared, and were toppled and some friends grew antlers.

With the table out of the way, we had room to work on our boxes. We added stickers, more tape, names and drawings. Each friend had their own box, although many friends helped one another decorate.

When friends were finished, we tried them on for size - in a wide variety of ways.

Then, we brought them all to the rug and had Morning Meeting in our boxes! For our Moment of Silence, some friends just closed their lids.

We read a book that the Doves lent to us. It was about a bear who found a box! It was very funny to be reasding while we were sitting in our boxes.

Next, we put our coats on and took our boxes outside. We made a big train on the grass and attracted many friends over.

We shared our boxes with friends from all of the EC classes.

When we came back inside, we read a book that Raji (the kindergarten teacher) found for us, called Roxaboxen. It was about a pretend place built by kids, out of rocks and boxes and imagination. It was a perfect story for us and took us right into lunchtime. Today's meal was complete with singing, knock-knock jokes and lots of laughter.
