Baby Chicks

Morning activities.

Spanish class.

There continues to be amazing developments and teamwork in our Catbird buildings. Friends are experimenting with new sizes and shapes, and working to determine what makes a structure sound and/or wobbly (both are fun). We are exceeding previous height limits, and adding wings and circular shapes. IT is geometry and science, Catbird style!

We had a very exciting occurrence this morning. After much effort, a friend came through and got us a KEY TO THE MAGIC FORREST!!! This means that we will be going on loooong adventures in the woods over at Alverthorpe and developing an even more extensive outdoor curriculum. For a good summary of the benefits of play in nature, here's a good link:

We read a new super hero book.

Then, some friends went outside.

Then it was library time!

Doris read us a great story, and we got new books.

Back for Choice Time.

Geometry with rubber bands!

We worked on our catapults.

After clean up, we celebrated our key to the Magic Forrest with a Dance Party!

After lunch, friends went to visit the baby chicks that hatched yesterday in the kindergarten room.

After reading our chapter book and rest time, we finished our catapult...

...did some impressive drawing and writing...

...and built and tested some new Bey Blades.
