Paper Airplane Experts

The Catbirds morning began in a very relaxing way. Friends played Ring Around the Rosey, journaled and made beautiful music on the guitars.

Friends talked through their disagreements using the peace table. And together they came to great solution!

Friends were hard at work building large towers, and for safety, they wore pots on their heads!

We then headed outside to fly our paper airplanes. The Catbirds have very strong options on certain types of planes. So we have been making different types of planes and writing down their likes and dislikes about each plane. So far the Nakamura Loc plane is in the lead because of its "awesomeness," and the Fire Fox is falling into last place because it does not fly as far.

Two of the Catbirds made Birthday cakes out of the mulch and sang Happy Birthday to each Catbird.

Some friends noticed the beautiful Daffodils growing in our garden. Friends started to count each one but then stopped at 6 because their were too many to count!

The Catbirds LOVE playing in the pond and have been finding may different activities to do using the tubes and the water. One group of friends used the tubes to extend the waterfall to make it flow to the other half of the pond. Once the water started to flow, they place rocks inside the tubes and found out that the big rocks stop the water from flowing and the smaller rocks make the water go slower. Other  friends took one end of the tube and placed it in the pond and place the other end by their mouths. Taking turns, each friend blew into the pole and watched as the water bubbled up from the pond. Friends screamed and giggled excitedly each time!

The Catbirds finished up their morning with the Library. Laura read us the book The Very Hungry Caterpillar. Friends loved the part of the book when the Caterpillar got very big! After the story each friend check out books that they wanted to read. We then headed back to our room to read our stories before lunch.
