Big Kids and Big Hills

Early this morning, our 7th and 8th grade friends joined us, and came with us to Music.

Jason sang us a song and we had to reach inside a bag and pull out an instrument.

They were all different kinds of shakers, and we talked about the ways that they were similar and different.

We took them over to the Smartboard, and Jason put up a song called Aiken Drum. We had pictures to help us learn each verse, and we shook our shakers to the rhythm.

Our Big Kid Friends played along, too.

Before we left, we each had a turn to play the piano.

We went back for snack, and we showed our friends how good we are at making letters with our pretzels.

Then, it was time to get ready to go on our big walkabout. We got out our wagons and went down to the Lower Playground to meet up with the Owls and THEIR Big Kid Friends.

There were many of us, and we were excited to be out on such a beautiful day! One of the Catbird parents joined us, too.

Soon, the empty wagons were too much for our friends to bear, and our Big Friends were more than willing to pull, so...we took turns climbing aboard.

We stopped in the Grove for a quick tree climb, before getting ready to cross the street over to the Art Center.

Debbie Green joined us!

Lots of friends played in the house.

Sticks were an important part of many activities.

Rolling down the big hill was a required activity.

After another quick snack/fuel up, we continued our walkabout through the Art Trail. We paused at many of the installations for a closer look.

There were flowers to be picked.

We stopped to rest a few times on the way back. It couldn't have been a better way to spend a beautiful Friday morning. When we got back, we had a story and then said goodbye to the Big Kids and ate our much-needed lunch. Most friends snoozed through nap time (and teachers had to work hard not to join them!),
