A very bat-iful day!

Truck drivers went for a ride around and outside the school.

Friends selling crackers with cheese pieces.

Catbirds enjoyed the playground for a while, then when started to rain we went downstairs to run a little bit more before choice time. Today choice time was special because August's mom came to help us to build a bat house.

Laura told a story about her when she was a little girl. One time a bat came inside her house and scared her but later she learned that bats a very helpful creatures because they eat a lot of mosquitos and insects. Did you know that a single bat can eat up to 1200 mosquito size insects every hour?!. After sharing interesting information about bats and why it is important to help them Laura read a book about a little bat, soon after friends started to paint the parts of the house. Once it dries we will ensemble together.

Friends singing and dancing to the rhythm of the Batty Bat song (Sesame street).

Thanks Laura for sharing these activities with us. We learned facts about bats and we had fun! :)
