A Busy Morning

The Catbirds were happy to be back together again this morning. They quickly finished their jobs so they could gather to play.

There was both construction and destruction on the front rug.

Music in the block area and at the music table.

And cars and families all over the room.

After snack and clean up, we headed outside.

Friends had a chance to run, chase and climb.

The water provided lots of exploration.

Many Catbirds are honing their strength and skills on the monkey bars.

At the Chef's Table.

Constructing a river.

Morning Meeting began with a discussion of mosquito and how bitey they are. We concluded that we need more bats and birds around to help eat them up, and some medicine to stop the itchiness. Then, we practiced our breathing to settle in. Carol showed friends the movie camera, and discussed making a video about Bear Witness.

Kim read "Llama llama time to share."

The Catbirds were very observant and eager to talk about what they saw happening in the story.

Then we moved to Choice Time.

Cara, our student teacher, had set up a color sorting activity.

Friends used chop sticks to move the pieces into groups, testing both their knowledge and their fine motor strength and coordination.
