Things We Can Do

We had our first trip to the library today! Michelle read us two books: "They All Saw the Cat," and  "The Duckling Gets a Cookie?"

Then we got to pick out books for the classroom and check them out at the desk.

Friends had a chance to play with the magic sand, and we finished painting our names.

There were friends building cooperatively.

The Catbirds enjoy performing and have taken to having kind of fluid jam sessions, where friends flow in and out, changing instruments as they go.

Some friends also helped glue pictures on our name tags, as we continue to work on learning one another's names.

We headed outside early and began to take a look at the skills that the Catbirds have and the ones they are working on - today in the the realm of gross motor skills, like climbing and balancing.

By knowing what friends can do, we can help support and scaffold their ongoing learning, and plan activities that work for them.

Important Notes: Tomorrow we will go out on our first Adventure of the year. Please make sure your Catbird is dressed for walking, running and climbing.

Also, there is some info in your child's blue bag about after school enrichment programs. These tend to fill up fast, so I encourage you to take a look and sign up soon if you are interested.
