Friday is Scarey Story Day!

All the Catbirds greeted their school day in their own, unique ways.

Before we headed out the door, some puppets came to visit to help us prepare for going to assembly. We explained good ways to go down the hallway and the stairs and what would happen in the auditorium.

Then we were there!

We played a giant game of "Me, Too!" The teachers all introduced themselves and something they liked to do and, if you also liked to do it, you put your hands in the air and yelled, "ME TOO!"

Then Rich and Keisha and Raji led us in some of our favorite songs.

After, we went out our secret downstairs exit and went into the kitchen to meet and greet some friends who work there and see what they were making.

Next, we lined up for our running game, where friends have to listen for a particular word before they race down the hall and back. Carol, of course, tries to trick them with words that sound similar. We also talk about how to move around and not through our friends as we race.

Here again, we had help from some puppets.

Back in the room, we had time to play and explore and build as we figure out how to work together.

Alicia, our Spanish teacher, came by to hang out, say hi and meet the new Catbirds.

At storytime, we read a classic, "The Three Little Bears," with the help of the Catbirds.

Some time outside on another beautiful day.

Friday lunch and our very first Scary Story of the year.

The Catbirds were all in.

It all ended with a dance party.
