Off and Running...and Dancing

Friends were very busy from the start of the day until the end. We had many new and creative building constructed.

Friends disappeared and reappeared.

There was lots to share about our looong time away.

We put new, shiny black sand into the light table. This allows us to draw, write and make beautiful shapes and patterns with light.

We checked in with all of our animal friends - the guinea pigs, puppies and herds of wild animals.

At Morning Meeting, we read a new book, The Seven Chinese Sisters. It was a story about the sisters, all of whom had a different talent and they used their skills to save their baby sister from a dragon! The Catbirds liked this story!

At Choice Time, we introduced our next Cha Cha Challenge: The Tricky Tall Tower. This challenge requires friends to build the tallest tower that they can in 1 or 3 minutes. When the timer goes off, they get a friend to help them measure their tower and record their results. As with our last challenge, this one will change over the next week - becoming more challenging as the week progresses.

Other Choices included:

Playdough with new leaf molds,

Don't Break the Ice game with Heidi,

The Big Giant Planet Puzzle,

and Collage.

The Puzzle Team succeeds again!

Then, we headed to the auditorium with the Owls and the kindergartners for a dance party (the morning was not up to 20 degrees, so we couldn't go out).

It is impossible to get good pictures of the Catbirds in motion in the auditorium, so you will have to use your imaginations.

A rest break.

We headed back for lunch, where friends took turns telling many scary stories, and then settled in for a rest. Its good to be back together!
