A Capella and Dragons

This is yesterday's chart. As you can see, we are working on opinions, charting and developing unique initials/signatures.

Another busy morning of exploration.

How short can you sharpen?

How long is...?

Counting minutes.

Adding to portfolios.

Getting ready for Morning Meeting.

A dragon comes to visit. The Catbirds helped him figure out how to draw a dragon - figuring out what shapes to use, which colors and relative positions.

It was pretty funny.

Strong debate about the correct number of legs (ranging from 2 to 100).

We ended by teaching the dragon some of our favorite songs. After snack, we headed to the auditorium.

"Out of the Blue," the a capella group from Yale, performed for us.

They were awesome, and the Catbirds were mesmerized!

For the last song, we danced.

When the show was over, several 3/4 classes and the kindergarteners stayed behind and had our own dance party.

Mike taught some gangnam style!

The Catbirds love the stage!

After a weather assessment, some friends headed out to wade through puddles and slide on the ice. Others stayed in to paint and draw.

There was lunch, read aloud and rest time. Non-napping friends did puzzles, art and helped to hang the lights for the Cha Cha Challenge. Another great day.

Have a great weekend!
