A Day of Dragons and Salt Dough

At Morning Meeting, we discussed our opinions about dragons: Are Dragons Good or Bad?
Each Catbird took a turn to write their name in the column of their choice.

There was much contemplation on the subject, as some Catbirds believe dragons to be good, while others think they are bad. When we tallied up the columns, we found that more, in fact most, Catbirds believe dragons are good.

This led nicely into a new dragon book, which received many thumbs up!

For Choice Time, we made salt dough! Some of the Catbirds were interested in tasting the salt before we mixed it in with the flour...

Many complex structures are created when connects come out for Choice Time.
"It's a coffee maker!"

The texture of the salt dough made the activity particularly fun and engaging.

We used cookie cutters to make shapes with the dough, which will soon be baked into pretend puppy treats. After they are baked and hardened, the Catbirds will get to paint the treats!

Before lunch, we headed outside to enjoy the fresh (and above 20 degree!) air.
Friends had been missing their outside time. So, they were thrilled to run at high speeds, hop across stumps, and work their way across the monkey bars over and over and over again.

Back in the room before nap time, Carol took a moment to share a very funny photograph of her dog. It made the Catbirds burst with giggles.
