I Spy

The Catbirds' day began with lots of babies crying and needing their Mommies and Daddies on the book rug. Friends are working very hard on playing with one another and listening to the ideas other friends may have.

Once all of our babies were cared for, we headed outside for a run around.

Some friends, with the help of the Owls, built an obstacle course that circled the entire outdoor classroom.

Other friends experimented with items in the pond to see if they would sink or float.

Friends then headed back inside for Morning Meeting and a Moment of Silence. Danielle read us the book There's a Wocket in my Pocket. This book got mixed reviews from friends. Some friends liked it because it had funny words that rhymed; other friends did not like it because they did not have a "Gellar in the Cellar" or a "Zall in the Hall."

Recently some of the Catbirds have been very interested in I Spy books. So the Catbirds looked through the I Spy books in their room and decided to make their own I Spy book. As a Choice, friends cut out pictures from magazines and glued them to a large board, so when finished, we will have our own I Spy page.

Another new Choice was Seeds. Friends got a strip of newspaper and placed dots of glued in a line. Then on each dot of glue, friends placed a seed. Once the glue dries, friends will plant the strip of newspaper out in the raised planters for the seeds to grow. Over time, the newspaper will break down and allow the plants to grow in a straight line.

Other Choices were the Sand Table, Books, and Pretend Play. Once Choice Time was over, friends cleaned up and got their lunch boxes to enjoy their delicious lunches.
