Planting Trees

A few photos from yesterday afternoon

This morning we went to assembly, to sing about the riparian buffer.
(riparian buffer is a vegetated area (a "buffer strip") near a stream, usually forested, which helps shade and partially protect a stream from the impact of adjacent land uses. It plays a key role in increasing water quality in associated streams, rivers, and lakes, thus providing environmental benefits

We sang The Riparian Buffer song, and heard from our friends from TTF, who are helping us take care of our creek and wetlands.

We headed out - taking a  new and improved route to the fields.

We headed over the Monet Bridge...

...and raced across the soccer field.

Rosanne gave us a demonstration of how to plant the trees.

Then we were off!

We were especially good at breaking up clumps and stomping down the dirt.

We stopped off on the way back for snack.

A brief exploration of the Dragon's Nest.

When we got back, a special friend arrived to spend some time with us.

Next, it was off to Music class.

A friend being friend-ish.

When we returned, it was time to get our shoes back on, get a drink and listen to a story.

Then we had Morning Meeting.

After our moment of silence and song, we had our first PUPPET SHOW!

These puppets were having a serious problem. One had built a special ship FOR ONE, and the other kept GETTING ON IT! They were having a big fight, so we asked the Catbirds to solve it.

The puppets listened carefully, as the Catbirds offered a number of wonderful solutions.

Then it was Choice Time.
Next, we said goodbye to our half day friends and had lunch.
Reading, Jack in the Beanstalk on the speaker and rest.
Then, for the friends awake, some projects at the table and taking care of our animal friends to prep them for the weekend. Another great day!
