Painting, Singing and Playing with Friends

After our morning sign in and some Legos and music,

...we headed off for Art class.

Maria showed us some paintings by an artist named Monet, and we noticed some things about his paintings.

Then she demonstrated how we could make a water effect using a sponge and paint.

Next, we learned how to make lily pads using tissue paper and glue.

And we were off!

Back in the room, the music continued (our new ukulele is quite popular).

Outside, we watched Erin put a new ladder on our climber.

Friends are playing together in increasingly complex ways.

Many new recipes are being tried out.

We practiced climbing on the new ladder.

Back inside, we had Morning Meeting. After our Moment of Silence, we told a story together, instead of reading a book. We call this a "Round Robin Story," and each Catbird got a couple of turns to add to our adventure. Our first Round Robin involved a dragon, a snake and a fairy, as well as some magic fire (Spoiler alert - the fairy turned out to be a villain!).

Next was Choice Time, where we continued to work on our Secret Project, as well as model with clay and create with stickers and magnatiles. We were so busy, we forgot to take pictures - so you will have to use your imaginations!

After lunching together, one of the Catbirds picked a story for us to listen to while we rested. Some of us had a good nap.
