Catbirds and Books (named by Katy)

The Catbirds' morning began with journaling, painting with water colors and building with magnetiles.

The Catbirds then headed outside for a quick run around. Friends are very very fast! So fast that it was super hard for Danielle to get a picture of them!

Some of the Catbirds stood on the benches, and when Danielle said, "Ready Set Go!" Friends were suppose to jump. But every time Danielle said "Ready Set," the Catbirds would jump and Danielle would become very silly and explain to friends that they needed to wait till she said, "Go!" So we tried it many many many times, and each time the Catbirds jumped early!

A couple friends jumped with their eyes closed, others jumped with their tongues sticking out and some even jumped with their eyes closes and tongues sticking out!

We then headed in for Morning Meeting, Moment of Noises and a Moment of Silence. Danielle read us a story called, "My World of Color." Friends were very fast when naming each color in the book. Next, Danielle laid out a bunch of items from around the classroom and asked friends to guess what each item had in common. Right away friends guessed that everything was blue. Next, Danielle challenged friends to see if they could each find a blue item around the room and bring it to the rug. But to make it extra tricky, Danielle set a timer for one minute! After each friend brought their item back to the rug, they were able to take a picture of what they chose.

After our blue challenge, we headed to Kindergarten to meet the Cardinals. But we got there extra early, so Raji played us his guitar while we were waiting. Friends gave Raji two thumbs up! As soon as he was finished, the Cardinals showed up, and we watched a quick clip of baby ducks learning to fly. Friends thought it was very funny watching the ducks leap out of the tree!

To finish up our morning, we headed to the Lower School Playground to run, slide, dig, and climb. Most of the Catbirds showed off their climbing skills on the "big kids climber." Each time a friend successfully climbed to the top, everyone cheered and clapped very loudly!

During lunch, Max saw a hawk fly by the window. So we slowly and quietly walked out to see if we could see it. But by the time we went outside, the hawk was already gone. So we headed back inside to pretend we were hawks, and we ate up all of our lunches!
