Making Things - Including Friends!

Wednesday

Wednesday morning table activities.

Meeting for worship in the music room. We joined the Cardinals and Sparrows for some shared silence and singing together.

Back in our rooms, friends gathered the questionnaires and drawings that they had made for their third grade friends.

We went to deliver them. The Catbirds are beginning to form real friendships with their buddies (a few are continued from last year) and they are genuinely glad to see and spend time together.

In the room, we worked on a variety of projects - in groups and individually, before it was time to clean up and gather.

We read, "The Red Square," and talked about the many transformations that the square went through.

Snack time. One of the Catbird families brought us a special, delicious treat!

Outside, collaborations continued as friends worked together to build spaces that they can all use.

Meanwhile, we brought the drill outside to get materials ready for something we would be building at Choice Time.

Friends were excited to learn how to use this tool.

Some of our friends joined the Sparrows and made clouds!

Our science project. The Catbirds got to put it together, and predict what they thought would happen.

Thursday

Some friends have gotten excited about learning to write and draw, and it seems to be contagious. So we spent some time this morning sharing ideas and techniques.

Then it was time for music class!

After, we gathered to make banana muffins for us and our third grade friends.

We love activities tat involve measuring and mashing and stirring!

Once we cleaned up the room, we headed downstairs to put them in the oven and then went outside.

It was another beautiful day.

The building and baking crews were hard at work.

Back inside, we made sure that we had enough muffins for each of our friends, and then we went to deliver them.

They were excited to see us, and even more excited when they learned why we were there!
