Storytelling and Sign Making

Book writing.

Playing the Hex Bug game.

New buildings.

New books.

New sign in.

Snack time.

Friends working together.

Posing for an explanation of our book rating system.
Thumbs down, if you don't like it.

Thumbs up, if you do like it.

Thumbs sideways, if you sort of liked it, sort of didn't.

MOOSE EARS! If you LOVED it!

Outside time.

Art Class. Today we used oil pastels to draw underwater scenes.

Then painted over them with black ink. The oil acted as a resist and our pictures showed through.

At morning meeting, we practiced writing a group story about Catbirdland, to get ready for writing individual stories in the morning.

Choice Time.

We also worked on a project that the Catbirds came up with when they noticed that the older kids were leaving a great deal of trash outside the cafeteria. At our meeting, the Catbirds decided to do several projects to help remind the older kids not to litter. The first part of their plan? Make signs for the outdoor tables and trash cans. (The second part we work on on Monday!)
