The Science of Sinking and Floating

Spanish class!

We played our favorite game.

We made a sensory bottle and friends added different objects to it - predicting what each would do. Some sank, some floated and some stayed suspended.

Here are some of their theories:
Beads are light and rocks are hardRocks are made out of heavy stuff and beads are made out of wooden stuff. That bead is floating. Because that on is too small to move. And the other ones acan get lifted up because the sunlight attracts little things. The bigger things and the little things go up. This one has something inside of it that causes it to stay in one place or sinkCause the little ones are lighter than the big ones. I think cause some sort of plasma that makes them stick down . Whatever they are floating in holds them down. They going up because they are trying to hide from the rubber band. They trying to get to the rubber band. The rocks went down because they are trying to hide down. (Not moving) Because these ones (the big glitter), are making them stuck.

Then it was time for Art.

We are working on the background for a large group piece, using finger paints and textures.

back outside for some running and then inside for stories.

A project to be completed tomorrow!
