Teamwork!

Twas a lovely and busy morning, with friends connecting and working on a variety of projects.

Then it was library time! Doris read us some books on space, and was very impressed with everything the Catbirds already know.

We picked out many new books to bring back to our classroom, and started reading them right away.

Friends got out the measuring tape, to figure out how tall their building was.

Then, we measured many objects and people in the room.

After a great snack (Soft pretzels are back, being sold by the 3rd and 4rth grades), we headed outside.

We found some more ice in different forms - much thinner and wetter than last weeks!

There was more measuring to be done outside.

Our Morning Meeting Moment of Silence.

We are continuing our experiment from Friday - now it's time to fill the balloons with water. Over snack, we already made plans about what to do if we accidentally got wet (we decided that screaming and crying would be the way to go), so Amy and I decided to role play how to do the task as a team. The Catbirds were helpful when we did not want to share the squirt bottle - they coached us through the whole activity.

Then, it was Choice Time.

They did a beautiful job of working in teams.

Jean, the Math Resource teacher, came in to talk with us about creating some cool math games for our friends who are interested in numbers. We helped her make the first game. She'll be back soon to play with us!
