Dancing and Dehydrating

We began the day with Music class with Aedín!

Warming up our voice. The higher the ladybug flies, the higher our voice goes.

New Song:
Hop Old squirrel, eidledum, eidledum
Hop Old squirrel, eidledumdee
Hop Old squirrel, eidledum, eidledum
Hop Old squirrel, eidledumdee

Story: The Busy Little Squirrel by Nancy Tafuri
While listening to the story music is playing in the background. Is the music slow or fast?

There are lots of ways squirrels move and lots of things they do...
Hop, jump, climb, swish their tails, and hut for food!!!

Hunting for acorns around the room
Matthew was hunting for acorns! He found 2 and played the bar 2 times...

... the rest of the class closed their eyes and listened to see how many times he played..

...they held up their fingers to show how many they heard!!!

Squirrel Dance!

When we returned to the classroom, Jasmine showed us her dehydrator!

This was of particular interest to the Catbirds, as we are currently studying astronauts. We recently learned that in outer space, astronauts eat dehydrated food.

The Catbirds peeled and sliced apples to dehydrate

Meanwhile, other friends finished puzzles, constructed buildings, and engaged in dramatic play

As a special surprise, we went to the Owl's classroom for a...

Dance party!

We were having so much fun that they invited us to stay until lunch time

It was a most excellent day!
