Musical Hypotheses

Our morning began with Music class.

We began with some rhythms.

Aedin has also decided to extend our knowledge of experimentation and hypotheses to music. She brought out a pretty large instrument, and some Catbirds knew its name. Before we played it, Aedin asked us to predict how it would sound.

These were our hypotheses for the sound of the cello:

"I think it will sound like a guitar."
"It might sound like OOOHHHHH."
"Or like hmmmmm, hmmmm, hmmmm."
"I think it will sound like a ukelele, just like the one I got for Christmas."
"It sounds like an elephant."
"It will sound like eeeeeeeeeeee."
"I think its gonna sound like this, ah aha, ah aha."
"I gonna sound sound like this, aa ee aa ee aa ee!"

After we tested our hypotheses, the Catbirds described how they thought it sounded:

"It sounds like a nightmare, like the monster's nightmare."
"It sounds like the Legend of the Bone Nappers."
"It sounds low."
"It sounds like my ukelele that I got for Christmas."
"It sounds like an elephant."
"Like a violin."
"It sounds like a dragon roar."
"It sounds like fire."
"It sounds like a guitar."
"It sounds like a pig."

We had some time outside. We declared this space, The Bench of Misery. Unfortunately, it all fell apart when my companions started giggling and having fun.

After Morning Meeting, we had Choice Time and Jeanne the math specialist joined us to play some math games. Friends got to roll the dice and build towers.

Other Choices.
