Captions by Catbirds

Friday in Photos!
Many of the captions for the following photos were written by Catbirds.

The morning began with reading friends' names and reading books...

Saying good morning to teachers...

Taking turns playing in the cozy box

Some morning exercising...

This morning we had an assembly in the auditorium. The first graders presented us with a very special performance.

They performed a choreographed interpretive dance of the life of a monarch butterfly

We got to see some Catbird siblings dance on the stage!

After the Assembly, we returned to the classroom for the quiet Lockdown Drill. When we heard a voice on the intercom tell us that the drill had begun, all the Catbirds tiptoed over to the kitchen area. For ten minutes, we were very quiet - like ninjas! It was quite an impressive feat for our fourteen classmates, and they did an extraordinary job.

When it was over, Aedín joined us for a music class!

We danced like wiggling jelly...

And we even got to use musical instruments!

We headed outside for some running and jumping and climbing and playing...
Much of today's energy was dedicated to dramatic play and patiently negotiating with each other.

There was also a lot of smiling!

"Amy and me were playing the game 'stop smiling!'"

"I was making a doctor appointment"

"Straw building"

Helping friends with zippers...

"I was playing Green Arrow. We were playing superheroes."

Some friends built unicorn houses...

"We were building a house. It was two cribs for my baby.

"Building a baby unicorn crib. I was the baby unicorn."

And rescuing friends...

"To the rescue!"

"Painting faces underneath the play set"

Below is a photo of: "building railroad track paths that cars can drive over and where persons go across the railroad crossing. It takes big bends away from the railroad crossing."

Have a wonderful weekend!
