Our First Resource Classes

The Catbirds were happy to be back together again!

After we finished out jobs, Alicia came in for our first Spanish class!
She worked hard to learn everyones names, then counted to 5 (in Spanish) and everyone moved to a new seat to try and confuse her!

It was muy bueno.

At Morning Meeting, we talked about making our blocks of wood, which will have something on each side (including our family pictures, initials, something that makes us happy and more).

We talked about shapes, how to cut a cube shape and smoothing edges.

Catbirds were then introduced to their journals, and we talked about some of the things that we could put in them.

Each child will meet individually once a week with Carol, Maria or Carolina to work on their journals. They will meet with a different teacher each week and will work on a wide range of activities and projects, including: (for example) drawing, writing, science, math, storytelling, painting, photography.

After snack, we spent some time out in our garden.

A friend found a cicada shell and everyone was curious about it.

Next, it was time for our first trip to the library. Michelle taught us a song and red us a story.

Then we got to check out books to bring back to our classroom.

We took some time to read our new books, alone and with teachers.

After  our busy morning, we had some more time outdoors on this beautiful day!

Back inside, we started at "A" to review and/or learn the letter sounds.
