Group play, Catbirdland creatures, and a puppet show!

We are beginning to fill our Catbirdland map with not only our homes and faces, but now with our animal friends as well! Each child was able to pick out an image of the creature they researched which we then laminated and cut out.

And then in Morning Meeting, we selected where our animals will live!

Our land is full of smiling faces and wonderful animals! It is becoming quite an exotic and exciting place to live...

Our choice time was full of group activities from hex bugs to building large complex cities of several connected buildings!

As well as musical and literary explorations...

After reading a book together, we went outside to run around the playground!

Inside, in our circle time before lunch, we had a puppet show about a frog and mouse who were having communication issues. The children watched the mouse forget to use her words, making loud sounds instead, as the frog tried to make her mouse friend happy, and then the Catbirds discussed possible solutions to this frustrating communication issue!

A very productive and thoughtful Thursday!
