Visit from a Firefighter

Dancing at morning assembly.

Heroes of Black History Month

Amber from the Glenside Firehouse came to visit us this morning. She wore her uniform and brought her firefighter gear.

First, she answered many questions, quite a few having to do with fire trucks.

She explained all of her equipment as she put it on. The air tank was a little noisy.

Then she let the Catbirds try on her gear.

At the end, she talked about fire safety and gave the Catbirds some souvenirs. Then, they gave her a tour of the room and sang her a few songs before she had to leave.

Reflections of Me: Our Visiting Author

We had an early morning concert. Tickets were hard to come by.

Then we headed over to the library to meet the author,
Candace Roberston-James.
She read us her book, "Reflections of Me."

Then, she talked with us about superheroes, and the students own superhero qualities. Next, we got to draw ourselves as superheroes.

After, we headed outside.

There was lots of running, digging, and setting sail in ships.

Inside, we had a story and then Choice Time.

More friends worked on their fire engines.

Others did their self portraits.
