Spanish, Art, and a whole lot of Sunshine!

We began a beautiful sunny day with our friend Alicia!

We flew in helicopters all the way to Spain...

And then had a wonderful lesson learning the spanish versions of the names of all of the geographical fixtures we have imagined in Catbirdland!

We celebrated a birthday...

And then ran off some of the sugar on the playground.

Back inside, we were ready to learn in Art.

Amanda presented each Catbird with a set of tubes, three filled with one of the primary colors, and three empty...

Using a pipette, Amanda showed how each child would have the opportunity to measure amounts of the primary colors into the empty tubes to create their very own watercolor shades!

And then everyone would be able to use their very own mixed watercolors to paint.

The Catbirds were thoughtful about their colorful experiment...

And the resulting paintings were beautiful!

Then, we returned outside where our color testing art class inspired us to test our physical limits with climbing and running together!

We enjoyed a very active, sunny morning! And settled in for the afternoon with a story before lunch.
