Monday's Natural Science Day

Today we organized some of the data we collected on how loud our whistles blow (the one's we 3D printed). We noticed that a number of friends had the same number score. Seems our decibel measuring program lacks some finesse. Carol wrote to the Upper School science teacher for help.

Then, Spanish. We worked on colors today.

We headed outside - trying to soak up as much sun as possible, as the week may be dreary.

We had snack outdoors.

There was a cupcake dilemma. Plenty of cupcakes, but only 7 with ninja turtles on them. We left it to the Catbirds to work out, and they did!

Yet another beetle was found. Our aquarium total is 6...we think.

We headed over to the garden to get things ready.

We found lots of creatures.

And strange plants.

We drilled a hole in the big container, so the rain water would drain out. We discovered something fascinating about how the water was running.

We decided to try and predict where it would go.

Lots of friends got involved. We noticed what made it run and what slowed it down.

We took some of our garden finds to Roseanne, the science teacher.

She told us one thing was a chrysalis.

She showed us some silkworms, that are also forming chrysalis..es?

We looked at others that looked like ours. She also gave us some advice on replanting the onions we had found. We love Roseanne!
