Monday Monday

The Catbird teachers have been busy writing reports this past week, so we haven't had much blog writing. Fortunately, we are back now!

This day began with a whole lot of building, and quite a few friends making additions to their personal blogs. Many of the Catbirds have been developing their skills around talking about the things they make. This is also one of the ways that friends get to practice their reading and writing - by naming and typing titles on their blog.

Next, it was time for Spanish class. Alicia has been teaching friends words for feelings and for shapes. She has also had them doing some math - creating patterns with the shapes and having friends figure out the next in the sequence (i.e. triangulo).

Snack and...

Hide and Seek! The new favorite, all-group game. Friends are counting to twenty or thirty, while the rest hide in the room. Despite out limited hiding places, they love playing this together.

More blogging.

The crew, getting ready to tear down the buildings - complete with safety gear!

Outside.

The Catbirds found a frog in the pond, so we caught it (but not without a great deal of screaming and missing).

Then we headed off to the creek, to find it a quieter home.

Look close and you can see our friend under the leaves near the stick.

On the way back, we found a beautiful shady place to play.

There were trees to climb and lots of sticks.

Forts, already made!

Max joined us on for a Facetime on the phone - this is becoming a pretty regular part of many of our days, and friends are getting use to talking with him this way. Today, when asked why he was still in the hospital, Max told the friends who were with him that he has leukemia, so this word may come up.

WE had some time in our garden - although we didn't get everything planted yet (it was REALLY hot out there). We did get some of four bean plants in, as well as some of our flower seedlings. More to come later.
