Lots of Books Today

After our morning greetings and jobs were done...

....we set out to make a new batch of flubber. By now, the Catbirds are pretty independent in their mixing and measuring skills.

Their teamwork is also impressive.

We made two batches today - one for the room and one for Max.

Soon, it was time to head to the library. Michelle read us two brand new books, and asked us to review them We explained our rating system, from low (thumbs down) to so-so (thumbs sideways) to good (thumbs up), to GREAT (MOOSE EARS!).

The first book was about getting a new baby sister, and how annoying little kids could be, and also how great. The Catbirds could really identify with the ways that big and little together can be fun sometimes and irritating other times - some examples were right from our classroom! We gave this book MOOSE EARS!
The second was called Nobody's Perfect, and it was about how everyone does stuff that's not so great sometimes. That one got thumbs up and some Moose Ears.

We picked out some new stories to take back to our classroom.

We headed outside for snack, and had a chance to read many of our books.

A very involved game of hide and seek happened.

As well as some building.

water play,

soccer,

and relay races.

Some gardening and more books, before it was time for lunch.
