Icy Springtime

Making Art. We are working on the sign for our new Art Study - it's Art squared.

Some impressive buildings were constructed.

Catbirds working on the new Lego patterns. This activity encourages friends to translate a two dimensional pattern into three dimensions, and also challenges eye hand coordination.

We had Meeting for Worship out in the Commons for the second week in a row. We don't take pictures during this time, but meeting in a different space with just the Catbirds has allowed us to spend time talking more about why we have Meeting for Worship, and the value of time engaging in silent reflection.

After clean up and snack, we headed outside.

We checked out the condition of the melting ice, and enjoyed some bubble blowing and chasing.

Then, we headed out on a Muddy Adventure, to search for signs of Spring.

We discovered the water running down the road, and decided to follow it, to see where it was going.

It went across the field, gathering more water as it went.

IT ended up at the creek! We learned that this is called the headwaters.

The creek was pretty full and fast, and we found some new growth on our trees,

We did a little fishing.

And slid around on the ice.

We found a bunch of mud - some of which we brought back with us.

After quite a bit of clothing changes, we had some time to build animal houses.
