Blocks, 2x4's, and Ornaments

The Catbirds helped Carol saw a 2x4 piece of wood into smaller blocks, for an upcoming secret project

We didn't get far before Alicia came in for Spanish class!

We flew to EspaƱa and learned our seasons

And then, amazing building were constructed

Some of them got to be very, very tall

When it was clean up time, the Catbirds worked together to put away the blocks in the most beautifully organized fashion. We were so impressed, we took a photograph.

At snack time, Carol shared a grapefruit. Some friends had never had one, but they each tried a piece. It turned out that most Catbirds loved the tart grapefruit!

Some of their descriptions:

"It tastes like candy!"
"I can't even stop eating!"
"I a little bit like it... wait, I LOVE this!"
"I was about to fall down when I was eating it"
"I can't stop eating it because my head will spin around and pop off"

Outside, there was happiness and silliness abound

And a LOT of running around!

Some friends raced so much, they had to sit down for a bit to catch their breath

Back inside for Morning Meeting, we read a book and demonstrated a new choice

For the annual all-school AFS Winter Fest, we are making ornaments to hang on the tree.

The ornaments include buttons...

...and string. We will be sure to show off our finished products on the blog later this week!
