Smart Board Drawing

Our morning was very busy.

The Catbirds had so many things that they wanted to do.

They all got together to build a giant stage - bringing all of the big blocks in from the commons with their impressive muscles.

We had Spanish on our stage.

There were houses all over the room, with lots of different families.

Some of whom worked at offices with ancient equipment!

At least three huge puzzles were completed by various teams.

New machines were built.

The Cha Cha Challenge was a busy place.

We had some time outside.

Then we headed to the library.

We introduced friends to drawing on the Smartboard. It is a great medium for a variety of reasons. First, because it encourages large arm movement - which is critical for strengthening muscles necessary for sustained writing.

Also, it allows friends to draw, erase and redraw with ease - freeing friends up to experiment more.

Further, it lets us save our work and return to it over time, as well as print it out.

We will be using the smart board to create our individual dragons - using the descriptions we have written, and shape references we have been working on, as well as some picture research we will be doing. We will be using these pictures to create digital storybooks!

Back in the classroom, brief time for Choices.

We introduced some new tops, as part of our interest in spinning objects.

Reading before rest time. We actually discovered a dragon book that we hadn't read: The Dragon Machine.

Much excitement for Pajama Day!
