This was a very busy week, with lots of places to go and things to do.
We had our first art class with Johanna.
After a morning meeting discussion about lungs and breathing, friends started talking about where things like hearts and brains were and we started to look at our human body books. Then, we decided to ask our friend Amy (the upper school art teacher), if we could borrow Skelly the skeleton. Some friends were not sure, so we headed to the upper school to check it out and decide.
The Catbirds drove.
Amy introduced us to Skelly and the Catbirds enthusiastically decided to invite him to our classroom.
On the way back, we stopped to visit Virginia, the middle school science teacher. She showed us some activities they were doing (some of which we might try).
We did some experiments and predictions with water and ice. Then added it to our water bottles.
We started signing in in the morning.
We read many books. Pleased to report this is a book loving group!
We had our first Spanish class of the year with Alicia.
Perfecto!
We learned about the ways of using watercolor paints.
We had our first Music class with Keisha in our classroom (next week we go to the music room).
We spent time on the playground.
We took our first trip to the library for a story with Ashanti and to check out books.
We watercolored the first letters of our names,
Michael led a group building activity as we work on working together.
On Friday, we had our first assembly!
We mod podged our initial on our tree cookies
Our first PE class!
On the way back, we went to explore a few new places, including the comfy cough in the Fourth Century Center.
We drew our building when we finished discussing what we had made.
It was a great week!
