And So It Begins!

The Catbirds had a wonderful beginning to our school year!

We spent time getting to know each other and finding our way around the classroom. Here we are playing a game to learn each others' names - and to make silly faces.

We spent lots of time outdoors - meeting friends from the other EC and kindergarten classes.
We ran, we climbed, dug in the sand, played games and drove the bus to faraway places.

We used our imaginations in the room, We read a LOT of books (this is a book loving crowd!).

We dressed up and cooked some bizarre meals. We met Moose Ears the puppet.
We started writing our ideas and question in, The Catbird Book of Everything.

We made playdough and, as is our tradition, we put flour on our noses to get ready.

We laughed, a lot.

We revisited some old traditions and started making some of our own.

We put together a tripod so we could take some beautiful picures.

And we went on our first adventure with the Hummingbirds out in nature. We found sticks and rocks and acorns and buckeyes (actually chestnuts, but I'm from Ohio, where they are called buckeyes).
We may have seen some dragons and we learned how to drink squirting water, and what happens when there's a hiccup involved. A perfect beginning to our year.
