Testing our personal space. On Friday we had a discussion about personal space and Emily and I demonstrated how to find out the distance you are most comfortable having people stand when they are interacting with you. I stood a ways away from Emily, then slowly walked towards her until she felt like I was in the right place, and then she said, "Stop."
Then we had each Catbird call up a friend and do the same thing.
We talked about how important it is to be aware of other people's need for more or less space and to balance it with our own.
We also talked about how there are times when we need more and times when we want a hug!
