A Veteran Visitor and A Giant Leaf Pile

A busy early morning.

Morning Huddle, planning and exciting day.

Off to the library, where we talked about the difference between 'fiction" and "non-fiction."

We found many new books to take back to the classroom.

We stayed and read a few.

Then we headed outside for snack, and t read some more.

Then it was time for our special guest, Anthony's Pop Pop, who is a Marine veteran.

He showed us his many medals.

And how he wore his stripes and dress blues.

He had lots of cool patches and other collectibles to share.

Then he taught at ho to stand at attention...

...how to salute...

...and at ease.

We enjoyed his visit so much, that we have decided to extend and invitation to other family members to come in and share their stories. More information to come!

Then we headed out on an adventure. We had sent a note yesterday to our friend, Dave the caretaker, asking if he would make us a leaf pile. He said yes, so we went in search of it.

It was not hard to find, because it was GINORMOUS!

We loved it. You will undoubtedly have found bits of leaves in all sorts of places on your Catbird.

Our friends from Step Up Academy came out to jump with us, and invited us to come play for a bit.

So we did.

Anthony's grandfather came with us for all the fun.

We headed back and got ready for lunch. We had plenty to talk about!
